Tom Banton has been included in both the tour of Sri Lanka and the provisional squad for the tournament, hosted jointly by India and Sri Lanka in February and March.

Banton plays wicketkeeper and batter for Somerset.

The panel from the England Men’s selection team has revealed the squads for the white-ball tour of Sri Lanka in January, which consists of three one-day internationals (ODIs) and three IT20s.

The provisional squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 features Somerset wicketkeeper-batter Tom Banton, while Nottinghamshire seamer Josh Tongue has been selected in the IT20 squad for the first time.

Jofra Archer, the Sussex fast bowler, is in the provisional T20 World Cup squad but will skip the Sri Lanka tour as he continues rehabilitation after sustaining a left side strain during the third Ashes Test in Adelaide earlier this month.

Brydon Carse, Durham’s seamer, is included in the squads touring Sri Lanka, as is Surrey’s batting all-rounder Will Jacks, who returns after missing the October New Zealand white-ball tour.

Kent’s top-order batter Zak Crawley rejoins the ODI squad for the first time since December 2023, aiming to add to his eight format caps.

The entire England tour group is set to leave on January 18, 2026.
