It’s hard to believe it’s been a whole month since Prince William and Kate Middleton last gave us a recap of all they’ve been up to. But here we are at the start of May, and the royal couple just dropped their monthly royal rewind (a reminder of all the Kensington Palace posts, events, outings and more from the past month).
And April was a busy one for Princess Catherine, 43, and Prince William, 42. (Not to mention it was busy for their youngest, Prince Louis, but more on that in a minute.) Here, a few highlights from their Instagram Stories featuring the Kensington Palace April Royal Rewind.

The first Story (after their traditional intro slide shown above) featured a video of Prince William making a major announcement. In the vid, first posted in early April, the prince revealed that the upcoming Earthshot Prize ceremony is coming to Rio!
He captioned the original video, “The Earthshot Prize is coming to Rio this November! Get ready for big announcements, inspiring stories, and 15 new incredible Finalists from around the world, all in the heart of Brazil.”
You’ll notice he was joined by Robert Irwin (and this wasn’t the pair’s only collab in recent weeks).
Of course, then there was a slide of the family’s dog. April 11 marked National Pet Day, and to celebrate, the Princess of Wales shared a sweet snapshot of the family’s black cocker spaniel, Orla. (Surprisingly, at the time, this made news as it helped debunk some royal rumors.)
The prince and princess also shared a striking image of Princess Catherine with a group of scouts. The picture captures a moment from a series of videos posted in mid-April. They were filmed during a trip to the Lake District, where Kate joined Chief Scout Dwayne Fields and a group of young Scouts—she’s joint president of the organization, after all—for a day outdoors.
“I find it a very spiritual and very intense emotional reconnection I suppose, these environments,” she said in one video. “Not everyone has that same relationship perhaps with nature, but it is so therefore meaningful for me as a place to balance and find a sort of sense of peace and reconnection in what is otherwise a very busy world.”
Then, the pic and video we’ve all been waiting for: Prince Louis’s birthday post, which first debuted on his bday, April 23. Following with tradition, Kensington Palace released a never-before-seen photo of the birthday boy on social media. This was followed up by some footage of the young prince acting goofy for the cam.
Naturally, things ended with a “thank you” slide from the Palace.
After such a busy month, I can’t wait to see what May brings!
