The Book of Mormon overtakes We Will Rock You this week to become London’s 16th longest-running production, and 12th longest-running musical

Smash-hit musical comedy The Book of Mormon reaches a major milestone this week, becoming the 16th longest-running show in West End theatre history.

The Book of Mormon is now playing at the Prince of Wales Theatre in London, booking to 18 April 2026.

Created by South Park’s Trey Parker and Matt Stone, with music co-written by Robert Lopez (Frozen, Avenue Q), The Book of Mormon opened in the West End in 2013.

At tomorrow’s evening performance on 3 January 2026, The Book of Mormon will play its 4,660th performance, leapfrogging We Will Rock You to become the 16th longest-running show, and also the 12th longest-running musical in West End history.

In recent months The Book of Mormon has also overtaken Thriller Live and Billy Elliot The Musical in the longest-running shows and musicals categories.

Other West End milestones in 2025 for the show included it becoming the 15th longest-running musical in West End history in June 2025, overtaking Miss Saigon after its 4,413th performance in London.

The current London cast includes Blair Gibson as Elder Price, Conner Peirson as Elder Cunningham, and Paige Peddie as Nabulungi, alongside Colin Burnicle, Ian Carlyle, Matthew Elliot-Campbell, and Ron Remke.

The ensemble features Deon Adams, Carys Alyse Thomson, Jake Bishop, Charlie Booker, Callum Henderson, Harry Lake, Harrison Langham, Jacob McIntosh, Nicholas McLean, Paige Miller, Zachary Miller, Jack Rose, Kellah-M Spring, Kinshasa Sunrise, Nic Vani, Aisha Williams, and Jason Yeboa. Swings are Josh Barnett, Char Burnett, Joseph Davenport, Patrick George, George Grayson, Evan James, Michael Lewis, Sean Parkins, and Stephen Rolley.

The production is co-directed by Trey Parker and Casey Nicholaw (Disney’s Hercules), who also choreographs.

Winner of nine Tony Awards and four Olivier Awards, The Book of Mormon continues to be one of London’s most reliably crowd-pleasing shows, offering sharp satire, catchy songs, and a distinctly irreverent sense of humour.

The Book of Mormon is now booking at the Prince of Wales Theatre, London, until 18 April 2026.
