A British Airways flight was forced to land in Edinburgh on Sunday morning as the aircraft made a mid-air diversion. It comes as snow chaos causes havoc up north with a number of flights forced to re-route or be cancelled.
Flight BA1300 left London at 6.35am and was set to land in Aberdeen at 8.10am. However the flight diverted to the Scottish capital and landed around 8.40am
BA confirmed the diversion and apologised to passengers. With the exact reasoning yet to be confirmed, it’s understood to be caused by heavy snow showers.

A statement from BA reads: “We’re very sorry, this flight scheduled from London to Aberdeen, has been diverted to Edinburgh.”
British Airways have been approached for comment.
On Monday, Edinburgh Live reported easyJet flight U22261 was forced to land in Edinburgh due to “adverse weather conditions” on route to its destination.
According to flight tracking website, FlightRadar24, the aircraft was forced to re-route at Keflavik due to the weather conditions. EasyJet confirmed the diversion and added there was “low visibility.”
The airline apologised and confirmed passengers were offered a different flight from Manchester on Monday morning.
