Harrison Reed‘s long-range injury time strike denied Liverpool all three points at Craven Cottage after Cody Gakpo‘s goal just moments earlier appeared to have won it at the death for the Reds.

In a hugely entertaining clash in west London, Fulham took the lead in the first-half through Harry Wilson after neat work by Raúl Jiménez.

Liverpool struggled to break out of second gear and could have easily conceded another before the break. They showed greater positivty after the break and equalised through the much-maligned Florian Wirtz near the hour mark.

The German occupied the centre-forward role for large periods in Hugo Ekitike‘s absence, and finished from close range with aplomb.

Wilson hit the bar late on as both sides searched for a winner before Gakpo appeared to have won it for Liverpool with a tap-in in the 94th minute. His strike sent the away fans into delirium as he ripped his shirt off and wheeled off in celebration.

Alas, it wasn’t to be for the Reds. Just two minutes and 23 seconds later, substiture Reed unleashed a shot from nearly 30 yards out that swerved past Alisson in goal and blew the roof off Craven Cottage.
