Edinburgh fire crews were called to a property in the Clermiston area of the city on Sunday, January 4. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) were called to a property on Drum Brae Drive at 3.25pm.
They received reports of a bin on fire, which then began to affect a nearby property. The SFRS mobilised two appliances, one of which remained on scene two hours after the initial call.
A SFRS spokesperson confirmed: “We had a few repeated calls for reports of a bin alight that was affecting the building.”
“We received the initial call at 3.25pm and sent two appliances, we still have one in attendance now.”
One local resident told Edinburgh Live: “They’d shut down the lane going up to the leisure centre. Whole area stank of smoke.”
