Ludlow and Lingfield became the latest meetings to fall foul of the weather with Monday’s cards abandoned after inspections on Sunday.

Officials were due to have a look at the tracks at 10:00 and 12:00 respectively on Sunday but conditions were such at both venues that the decisions were made early.

There are no anticipated problems for the remaining card at Wolverhampton although there is some snow in the forecast and officials have announced a precautionary inspection at 09:30 on raceday.

Tuesday’s meeting at Musselburgh was abandoned on Saturday morning.

Sunday’s meetings at Chepstow, Plumpton and Naas have all been abandoned as the current cold-snap starts to bite.

Officials at the Welsh track inspected at midday on Saturday and found the course to be frozen with no prospect of improvement.

It was the same story at Plumpton at 13:00 where despite the frost covers being down, some areas of the racing circuit were frozen.

Naas were scheduled to stage the Grade One Ballymore Novice Hurdle but heavy frost has taken a toll, Their card has been rescheduled for Friday January 9th.
