A 29-year-old motorcyclist – who continued driving after crashing into a double-decker bus – has been rushed to hospital with “life-changing injuries”.
Police have urged for witnesses after the crash, involving a motorcycle and a double-decker bus on Stradbroke Road, Sheffield, yesterday evening.
South Yorkshire Police rushed to the scene at 4.33pm on January 3, after reports that a motorcyclist had crashed into the bus, before driving off and colliding with a fence post, near the junction with Bishop Hill.
The 29-year-old driver was rushed to the hospital with “life-threatening injuries”, where he remains fighting for his life.
Now, South Yorkshire Police are desperately appealing for information, footage, and witnesses who may have seen the crash.
A spokesperson said: “We were called at 4.33pm yesterday (Saturday 3 January) following reports of a two-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and double decker bus on Stradbroke Road.
“It’s believed the motorcyclist then continued their journey on Stradbroke Road before colliding with a fence post, near the junction with Bishop Hill.
“A 29-year-old man, who was thought to be riding the motorbike, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. He remains there at this time. The bus driver remained at the scene and has been cooperating with our enquiries.
“We are now appealing for anyone with information about this collision to get in touch with us. We are particularly keen to hear from anyone with relevant dashcam, doorbell or CCTV footage in the moments before and after the collision, or anyone who witnessed the collision and is yet to contact us.”
