It’s an incredibly quick turnaround once again for Leeds United as they prepare for the fourth of five fixtures within a fortnight. A trip to Newcastle United is next for Daniel Farke’s men.
Leeds have now gone seven games unbeaten after drawing with rivals Manchester United on Sunday, a game that has actually left Leeds fans and Daniel Farke frustrated that the Whites failed to secure a win.
A feeling that shows how far Leeds have come in the last six weeks. The Whites will be desperate to keep up that unbeaten run when they go to Tyneside on Wednesday night, with Ethan Ampadu available again.

After a 1-0 loss to Man United, Newcastle have won their last two matches against Burnley and then Palace on Sunday. The Toon have climbed to ninth and will be confident of a third win against Leeds.
Micah Richards warns Alan Shearer of Leeds’ danger man
It is an interesting game and one the two sides drew 0-0 at Elland Road earlier in the season. Newcastle can shake it up and be physical like Leeds, so it could come down to whoever fancies it more this week.
Speaking on The Rest Is Football, Micah Richards and Alan Shearer briefly previewed Wednesday’s game between Shearer’s beloved Newcastle and a Leeds side that Richards claims he supports, among others.
Having sung Marching on Together, Richards told Shearer: “I can’t wait for that game. I love the Geordies. But when Leeds are in town, I can’t wait. Calvert-Lewin will have you trembling in your boots, Alan.”

Alan Shearer identifies key battle between Leeds and Newcastle
Calvert-Lewin has been on fire over Christmas, scoring seven goals in six games before starting the game against Liverpool on the bench. He had a goal disallowed at Anfield after coming off, a matter of inches.
Against Man United on Sunday, Calvert-Lewin looked sharp again and hit the post with a super header. Incredibly unlucky not to score a ninth goal of the season in the last couple of matches for Leeds.

But Shearer believes he and Newcastle defender Malick Thiaw will enjoy a good old battle at St. James’ Park on Wednesday night. He said: “It will be a good battle by the way, Newcastle look a bit more solid.
“Malick Thiaw has had a really good season, a really good buy. Even when Newcastle weren’t playing well, he was one of the better players. Will be a good battle, those two,” Shearer added on Wednesday’s clash.
After Newcastle, Leeds then go to Derby County in the FA Cup on Sunday, before facing Fulham, Everton, Arsenal and Nottingham Forest in the Premier League. Leeds will host Fulham, Arsenal and Forest.
