(Aurora, Ind.) – South Dearborn High School senior Mason Lusby kicked off her 2026 across the pond.
Lusby was among 102 cheerleaders from the United States that performed at the 40th annual London New Year’s Day Parade. She was selected for the prestigious event following her attendance at a Universal Cheer Association camp by Varsity Spirit in June. Lusby was selected for All-American along with five other cheerleaders from South Dearborn.
The All-American status earned an invited to perform in the London New Year’s Day Parade. Lusby would be the lone South Dearborn cheerleader to attend with the other five declining the invitation.
Lusby was joined on the trip by her mother and two sisters.
Some highlights from our trip include visiting the Tower Bridge, Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, Windsor Castle, Kensington Palace, and King’s Cross Station where the 9 3/4 platform from Harry Potter is located.
The 40th annual Parade can be viewed at https://londonparade.com/. The American cheerleaders all met for the first time during the trip and had one rehearsal before the parade.
