More schools in Northern Ireland have announced planned closures for Tuesday, January 6, as the cold snap continues.
It comes as parts of Northern Ireland have been blanketed by snow over the past few days – with warnings of more to come. Temperatures struggled to get above freezing on Monday as many people prepared to return to school or work after the festive period.
Over 200 schools were closed on Monday and more than 100 have already confirmed that they will be shut on Tuesday too.

A new yellow weather warning has been put in place for Northern Ireland by the Met Office, following snowfall over the last few days.
The latest alert comes after a previous yellow warning was in place for snow and ice up until midday on Monday. The weather saw delays and cancellations at airports, and challenges on the region’s roads.
The more recent warning is expected to last from 5pm on Monday until Tuesday morning at 10am and warns of ‘ice formations occurring on untreated surfaces’ which could present problems for drivers on ungritted roads.
