Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be eclipsed by Prince William and Kate Middleton in the US, according to Paul Burrell.

The former royal butler, who served Princess Diana for ten years before she died in 1997, has lifted the lid on his 2026 predictions for the royal family.

According to the 67-year old, the Waleses will be stealing the spotlight on Harry and Meghan’s home turf.

“They will totally eclipse Harry and Meghan’s presence in the United States,” Burrell told OLBG.

“I think that the King is going to rely more and more on William and Kate because he knows that they are the future. He knows they are the most important and most powerful armour in his arsenal, and he’s going to rely on them to pincer his visit to America.”

He added: “It’ll be a two-pronged attack.”

As for Harry and Meghan’s potential return to the United Kingdom, Burrell thinks it’s unlikely.

“Meghan is a wise woman. She realises that she’s not that popular in Britain,” he says, adding that the couple are “safe” in Montecito.

As for what’s next for the Duchess of Sussex, Burrell predicts that she’ll return to the screen – amongst other things.

“She’ll launch herself back into an acting career, and she will launch herself into cosmetics and fashion wear.

“There’s nowhere that Meghan couldn’t succeed, and I wish her well.”

Prince Harry has previously slammed Burrell for his continuous commentary on the royal family.

In the Duke of Sussex’s memoir Spare, which was released in 2023, he fumed that the former footman made his “blood boil”.

“Mummy’s former butler had penned a tell-all which actually told nothing,” he wrote.

“It was merely one man’s self-justifying, self-centring version of events.

‘Worst daughter ever’: Explosive allegations hit Meghan Markle over ‘aggressive messages’

“My mother once called this butler a dear friend, trusted him implicitly. We did too. Now this.

“He was milking her disappearance for money. It made my blood boil.”

Last year, Burrell hit back at the royal, telling SkyNews.com.au that he had come face to face with Harry’s “petulant” behaviour after Vanity Fair’s exposé on the Sussexes.

“I know from firsthand experience how difficult Harry can be,” he said.

“I know how petulant he can be and how spoiled he is, because I’ve experienced that myself.

“He’s always lived in a bubble.”
