Bristol Bears U18 ran in nine tries to storm to an emphatic first PREM Rugby NextGen U18 League victory of the season against Exeter Chiefs at Shaftesbury Park.

Will Moore and Caspar Reeves scored two tries apiece while Casper Wheeler, Michael Whittaker, Ben Thomas, Harry Randall and Will Papp also touched down in a dazzling attacking display from the Cubs. Bruno Lamb kicked five conversions to complete the scoring.

Hooker Wheeler opened the scoring from a lineout drive, before centre Moore scored the first of his two, drifting outside the Chiefs midfield and powering clear. Whittaker collected a loose ball to score the Cubs’ third before Moore bagged his second, picking a razor-sharp line from a first-phase attack.

Reeves then took centre stage with a quickfire double, first collecting a floated pass to score in the corner, before launching a devastating counter-attack to race in from 60 metres.

Ben Thomas went over from close range and Randall shrugged off the covering Chiefs defence to score try number eight, while Papp completed the scoring when he dived on a loose ball to round off a commanding win for the Cubs.

Rory Evanett scored four tries as Bears U17 powered past Exeter Chiefs at Shaftesbury Park.

The full back scored crossed for a first-half hat-trick as the Cubs raced into a 43-19 half-time lead, before adding his fourth midway through the second half.

Theodore Prole (2), Jonah Richardson, Daniel Stewart, Nico Vallebona, James Hibbert, Fred Shorland and Jac Hughes all touched down in an emphatic home win.
