A car which was seized and crushed after it was used to illegally dump rubbish is to be displayed as a warning to potential fly-tippers.

Calderdale Council said the vehicle would be put on show at “key locations” around the area.

The authority said it had stepped up efforts to identify people who dump waste illegally and punish them with fixed penalty notices of up to £1,000.

Officers said the crushed vehicle was one of more than 20 seized by the council in the last year.
