The future of Spain’s armored forces may rest on a new mission given to Indra: developing a next-gen replacement for the country’s aging Leopard 2E main battle tanks.

With a 45-million euro ($52.7-million) contract under the PAMOV program, the defense giant is tasked to integrate advanced propulsion, troop protection, and firepower capabilities into the new land combat vehicle.

Madrid is further requiring Indra to boost the tank’s situational awareness and ensure the vehicle is highly maneuverable on the battlefield.
