Algebris Investments has named former Bank of England deputy governor Sir Jon Cunliffe as chair and non-executive director.
Cunliffe was deputy governor of the Bank of England with responsibility for financial stability for a decade between 2013 to 2023. He also sat on the BoE’s Court of Directors, the Financial Policy Committee, the Monetary Policy Committee and the board of the Prudential Regulation Authority.
Before joining the central bank, he was the UK permanent representative to the European Union.

At Algebris, Cunliffe will support the firm’s UK strategy and the long-term growth of the Algebris Investments Group.
