Chelsea’s appointment of Liam Rosenior will not alter Axel Disasi’s future at the club, sources have told Football Insider.
The Frenchman has been cut adrift from the rest of the first-team squad at Stamford Bridge so far this season, and Chelsea remain open to both loan and permanent offers for him, despite Rosenior’s arrival.
Football Insider revealed last week that Leeds United are eyeing a move for Disasi in January, and sources have now indicated that the change in the Chelsea dugout will not affect his situation at all.
The 27-year-old hasn’t played a competitive senior game for the Blues since April 2025, and he is currently attracting interest from clubs in both the Premier League and abroad.

Former Everton and Aston Villa chief executive Keith Wyness recently revealed to Football Insider that Disasi’s move to Leeds is in the “advanced stages” and is highly likely to go through before the deadline.
The Whites have identified the centre-back as an ideal candidate to come in and boost their options in the backline, and cover at the back is especially important amid Joe Rodon’s injury lay-off.
Daniel Farke’s side have been plotting a move to take the former Aston Villa loanee on a loan deal until the end of the season, which has come as a welcome development for Chelsea, given that they have been trying to offload him for several months.

Disasi’s last action came in November when he turned out for the Blues’ U21 side in Premier League 2, but apart from that solitary appearance, he has played no football since the summer.

Leeds find themselves in the thick of a relegation battle at the foot of the Premier League, and their efforts in the winter window could be crucial to their survival push.
Daniel Farke eyes deal for another member of Chelsea ‘bomb squad’
Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider in December that Leeds are weighing up a move for Raheem Sterling this winter, as they prepare to potentially take a second outcast star from Stamford Bridge.
Both Disasi and Sterling were part of Enzo Maresca’s ‘bomb squad’ in West London, and the club have been desperate to offload them from their wage bill for several months.
January departures have looked increasingly likely for both struggling stars in recent weeks, and Leeds could be about to provide the solution to both problems for Chelsea.
Sterling has also been linked with the likes of Newcastle and West Ham, but a move to Elland Road is seemingly also a genuine option for the winger.
