The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for heavy snow for parts of the East of England from Thursday evening until midday on Friday.
It said Storm Goretti was likely to bring heavy snow, leading to disruption and difficult travelling conditions across Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire, Peterborough, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire.
The yellow warning is in place from 18:00 GMT on Thursday to 12:00 on Friday and suggests that, in some areas, up to 10cm of snow may settle – with the potential for up to 20cm in some locations – especially over higher ground.
Storm Goretti has been named by Meteo-France due to the most severe impact of strong winds being felt in northern France.
