A man has been charged in connection with two burglaries at a retail park. Police were called on Friday, January 2, after reports that a man had entered Nando’s at Croft Retail Park in Bromborough and stolen two sets of car keys, two sets of headphones, aftershave and cash.

Later the same evening, it was reported that a security office at the retail park was broken into and two e-bikes were taken. The suspect is believed to have left the area in a stolen vehicle.

Following an investigation, Benjamin Ollerhead, 28, of Moscow Drive in Old Swan, has been charged with two counts of burglary, burglary with intent to steal, and theft of a motor vehicle.

He has been remanded and next due to appear at Liverpool Magistrates’ court on Monday, January 26.

Detective Sergeant Nicholas Glascott-Tull said: “I hope this investigation and the charge of a suspect offers some reassurance to business owners, staff and the wider community that we take these reports extremely seriously.

“To steal from a business or a shop is not a victimless crime and can have a huge impact on both staff and organisations.

“With that being said, I would like to take this opportunity to remind business owners of important steps they can take to better secure their premises.

“Simple measures such as identifying possible entry points that will need added attention or CCTV can make a huge different.
