The DWP has today (Wednesday) triggered further Cold Weather Payments in 24 postcode areas in Wales, as the Met Office issues a flurry of winter weather warnings for this week.
Over half a million households across the UK will be eligible for the payments, which will see them receive £25 towards the cost of heating their homes in the next week.
Running between January 1 and March 31, the scheme enables households to help cover heating costs during the cold snap. Areas of Corwen, Bala and Llangollen are eligible for the payment, following the severe winter weather.
It comes as Wales has been gripped in freezing weather, with schools and roads closed across North Wales amid snow and ice. More weather warnings are in force for snow in the coming days, with Storm Goretti set to strike.
