Super League sides Catalans Dragons and Toulouse Olympique will once again battle it out in pre-season, as both sides step up preparations for the upcoming campaign.
In what will be both clubs’ first and only warm-up fixture before the year gets underway, the Dragons will host Toulouse later this month, with the fixture taking place on Friday 30 January.
The two squared off in pre-season of 2025, with Catalans emerging heavy winners that day, securing a 42-10 victory. However with the Olympians in Super League this year, the game is expected to be a lot closer.
It will be the first of four meetings between the competition’s two French outfits in 2026, with the clubs paired together in the ‘Rivals Round’ fixtures. That means that they will play each other over the Easter weekend, on the weekend of Magic Weekend but at a neutral French venue, and again in Round 20.
Joel Tomkins heads into his first full season as head coach, and with signings such as Toby Sexton, Charlie Staines and Iszac Fa’asuamaleaui, they will be hoping to improve and reach the finals after missing out in 2025.
For Toulouse, it will be a taste of what’s to come in the season ahead, as they return to the top flight for the first time since 2022.
