A convicted murderer who absconded from prison has been found in Manchester. Kieran Cameron was reported missing from a Warrington prison at 8.20pm on Tuesday (January 6).
The 43-year-old is currently serving a 23-year sentence for an attempted murder in Dorset in 2016. Police launched a search after he went missing from HMP Thorn Cross.
Tonight (January 8), it has been confirmed Cameron was found in Hulme by officers from the Cheshire Police Serious and Organised Crime unit.
Following a trial at Portsmouth Crown Court, he was jailed alongside Michael O’Rourke. The pair attacked a 20-year-old man and left him with 10 stab wounds in a vicious attack in Parkstone Heights on 28 February 2016.

During the trial, it was revealed that the duo had been involved in serious and organised crime. They had been under threat from a rival gang and had hoped that the attack would be blamed on that group.
