Amazfit is rolling out a new update for the T-Rex 3 smartwatch. Software version 4.3.8.2 arrives around a month after the watch’s first Zepp OS 5.0 update, which added the new BioCharge energy level metrics and a Rucking activity. While this latest update shared the same version number as a recent T-Rex 3 Pro release, the two change logs have multiple differences.
Like with the T-Rex 3 Pro update, software version 4.3.8.2 brings new Equivalent Pace and Average Equivalent Pace metrics for the Outdoor Running and Trail Running activities. There is a new mid-workout voice memo recording feature, though only in select countries, and indoor cyclists can now use third-party speed sensors, cadence sensors, and power meters during their workout. Similarly, Stryd sensors are now supported during HYROX Race activities.
However, the software version 4.3.8.2 also has optimizations for the Terrain Map app and the workout track page. The release notes indicate that Advance up is the new default navigation view during an activity, though this can be customized in Workout settings. Other changes include improvements for the screenshot feature, the ability to skip your daily Zepp Coach workout, and enhancements for the altitude algorithm.
You can view the complete change log, shared on Reddit, in the screenshots below. Software version 4.3.8.2 is expected to arrive first for users in the US, Canada and China. It should reach all users of the Amazfit T-Rex 3 (curr. $249.99 Amazon) over the next few weeks, provided no major issues occur.
