Set for Sunday, January 11, at Sheriff Hutton, the highly anticipated event is expected to draw an extensive crowd.

The meeting, hosted with gratitude by Mick Easterby, features a remarkable entry of one hundred and eleven competitors, ensuring a vibrant atmosphere.

All proceeds from the day will benefit the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, with hopes of reaching a total contribution of over a quarter of a million pounds.

The first race, the Racing TV Conditions (level 2) Five Year Olds And Over, is slated to commence at 11.45am.

This race boasts a competitive field, with 32 entries likely leading to a divided contest. Notable contenders include Alice Dawson’s The Village Way, who displayed significant promise with a victory at Alnwick last month.

Another strong entry comes from Wallace Olinger, who was brought down at the last when in contention.

Emir Sacre, having finished second to The Village Way previously, will also be looking to improve.

Several other promising horses are set to compete, including Fumet d’Oudairies, Arctic Oscar, and Mumbo Jumbo from Gina Andrews’ yard.

Particularly, Mumbo Jumbo, having secured four wins from six attempts, stands out as a contender.

The local entrants include Jack Teal’s Courting Flow, Diamond Flush, and Cherry Coward’s Zhiguli, a course and distance winner who could easily make an impact.

The second race, the KCM Waste Management Restricted Open, features Ideal Du Tabert, who enjoyed a commanding victory at this meeting last year.

He faced disappointment upon his return at Chaddesley Corbett but is expected to bounce back.

His main rival, Line Em Up, has been in fine form following a win at Alnwick in December.

With both carrying penalties, Alice Dawson’s Hugo Moss may also rise to contention after showing promise with his placing in earlier races.

The third event, the Labiana Ladies Open, could favour Barton Snow, fresh off successful hunter chases at Cheltenham and Stratford.

His talent will be tested against Master Templar, who possesses an impressive win ratio.

Battling for competitive positions will also be Ballydonagh Boy, known for his strong performances at Sheriff Hutton.

In the Labiana Mens Open, recently arrived raider Grandads Cottage is likely to attract attention following a recent win.

Camdonian and Red Opium, star performers from last season, are set to compete as well.

Surprise Attack, a standout performer last year, may face his toughest competition yet.

As the fifth race approaches, numerous debutants and horses with a bit of form will compete in the Resdev Resin Development Maiden.

Welsh challenger Another Notion is among the runners hoping to secure victory, having been beaten six lengths into second at Lower Machen in November.

The day concludes with the Tattersalls Cheltenham GB Pointing Bonus Young Horse Maiden Series.

Promising horses with potential include L’Hybris Is Born and Barito, who dead-heated for third place in a blanket finish in a similar contest at Chaddesley Corbett a month ago.

Entry for spectators is priced at £15, with children under 16 admitted for free.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome on leads.

There is ample car parking. Visitors can look forward to a hog roast and local traders.

With countless exciting races lined up, Sunday promises to be a thrilling start to the Yorkshire Point to Point season.

Make sure to mark your calendars and join the festivities at Sheriff Hutton.
