Leeds United could now get their hands on Emi Buendia.

The Whites are yet to make a signing this winter, but the likes of Joe Willock have been linked to Leeds at this stage of the window.

Kalvin Phillips has also been linked with a Leeds return as midfield reinforcements appear to be on the Elland Road shopping list right now.

That could see Buendia remain as a Leeds target as Daniel Farke looks to reunite with the versatile attacking midfielder in Yorkshire.

Now could be the perfect opportunity to get Buendia to LS11 as Aston Villa look to make a deal happen away from the Midlands.

Aston Villa eye Emi Buendia replacement

Leeds made a deadline day bid for Buendia over the summer, but failed in their efforts to land the 29-year-old.

The Whites were made to pay for missing out on the Argentine, with his early-season form catching the eye of the entire Premier League.

The Villa man netted a last-gasp winner in a 2-1 victory against league leaders Arsenal at Villa Park to truly showcase his rise up the ranks under Unai Emery.

Buendia has struggled in recent weeks and has gone without a goal involvement in six matches, something which might not serve him well in January.

The Villans are eyeing a move for a potential replacement signing, with Atletico Madrid ace Thiago Almada linked with a £21million switch to B6.

Emery wants more creativity in his side, but the signing of an attacking midfielder for that sort of price could spell bad news for Buendia, but good news for Leeds.

Buendia could transform Leeds United under Daniel Farke

The Whites have been largely excellent in recent weeks, with the defeat against Newcastle representing a hugely frustrating result.

Brenden Aaronson showed his quality as he proved how effective an attacking midfielder can be in this 3-5-2 formation under Farke.

That could see Buendia thrive for Leeds if he were to sign after already showing his class despite being a bit-part player on occasion for Villa.

Having his ability on the ball and eye for a pass could prove to be effective alongside Dominic Calvert-Lewin as a true point of difference.

It will be interesting to see if the Villans will part ways with the 29-year-old and what that could mean for both sides this winter.
