The Royal Family have been encouraged to “wrap their arms around” Prince Harry once again. Less than two years after tying the knot, Harry and Meghan Markle made the shock decision to step away from royal life in January 2020.
Along with their son Prince Archie, now aged six, the couple moved to begin a new life in California. The couple later welcomed Princess Lilibet in June 2021.
Since the major decision to step away from life as a senior royal, Harry has been at loggerheads with the Royal Family – in particular with his father, King Charles and his brother, Prince William.
According to columnist Simon Kelner, the prospect of welcoming Harry back into the Firm would benefit the popularity of the Royal Family – and would “shape the [Firm’s] image”.
Writing for the i Paper, Mr Kelner said: “If those who seek to shape the Royal Family’s image and commercial appeal, and who talk about ‘Brand Windsor’ and ‘The Firm’, want to succeed in a multi-media landscape, they would do well to put their arms around Harry again.
“Like all the world’s great brands, the Windsors need to extend their relevance across all demographics, particularly a younger one.
“Harry can do that by speaking to an audience that is deaf to the stentorian tones of speeches at Windsor Castle. He can speak the language of TikTok as confidently as King Charles can speak German.
“I guarantee there will be those in power who recognise this, and will be keenly anticipating the day when Prince Harry is welcomed back into the fold.”
After previously finding out that his court case had been lost, Harry said to be optimistic that he has won his fight for automatic taxpayer-funded armed police protection in the UK, a source close to the Sussexes has claimed. The ruling is reportedly set to take place within weeks.
He has previously stated that he believes it is unsafe for his wife, Meghan, Archie and Lilibet to visit his home country without full-time police protection.
