RB Leipzig star Yan Diomande has seemingly issued a come and get me plea to Liverpool after being linked with a move to Anfield.

The 19-year-old has burst onto the scene in the Bundesliga this season, having joined Leipzig from Spanish side Leganes in the summer. He has seven goals and four assists from 16 appearances for his club this season, which has seen him being linked with yet another move.

Liverpool is among the clubs to have been linked with his services, with reports last month claiming that the Reds were already in talks with Diomande over a potential transfer.

According to Sky Sports Switzerland, the Reds had made “very advanced” contact with the winger’s representatives. Liverpool is far from the only side being linked though, with the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham also said to be in the running.

Diomande though looks to have made his preference very clear, and it looks to be good news for Liverpool.

During a TikTok live video which has been shared on social media, the winger revealed his desire to make the move to Liverpool at some point in his career.

“I want to play at Anfield, I want to play for Liverpool,” Diomande is reported to have said. “I’m a big Liverpool fan. My father’s dream is to see me play for Liverpool.”

Diomande is currently away at the Africa Cup of Nations with Ivory Coast, and Liverpool fans will be able to take a closer look at him later as he takes on Mohamed Salah’s Egypt in the quarter-finals.

The teenager is under contract at Leipzig until 2030, although with transfer rumors already circulating, it wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see the German club try to cash in soon, with a price tag of around $118 million (£88M) having been suggested.

Liverpool.com says: That is a lot of money to be spending on a 19-year-old who has only spent half a season in the Bundesliga. By the same token though, Leipzig clearly saw something in Diomande to pick him up from Leganes, and they move has been a success so far.

If it’s a move that Liverpool could be convinced about, then spending that kind of money could be easily justified considering the Reds would be picking up a player they could get 10-plus years out of.

You’d imagine a move would be unlikely this month, but it will be interesting to see how he fares for the rest of the season once he returns from AFCON, and whether he’ll be on the market in the summer.
