Capital officers descended on a city centre entertainment complex late on Sunday night (January 11).
The incident took place shortly before 9pm at the Omni Centre. In an image shared with Edinburgh Live, several police vehicles were spotted outside of the popular venue.
The exact nature of the incident is unknown. However several officers were seen at the entrance to the site.
One eye witness said: “I was walking past the Omni Centre and saw three police vehicles and four officers outside the centre. Further up there was another van.
“I’m not sure what happened. But there seemed to be a big presence.
“I hope everyone is ok.”
Police Scotland have been approached for comment.
