A new cycle path stretching from Yate station to the huge new Ladden Garden Village housing estate could be built. Some of the most notable changes if the project goes ahead will be the construction of a new segregated cycle way on Greenways Road, and the lowering of the speed limit to 20mph on Longs Drive and adjoining residential roads.

Under the plans by South Gloucestershire Council, which have been put out for a public consultation, a ‘walking, cycling and wheeling route’ would be built to run from Broad Lane/Randolph Avenue to Station Road, using Greenways Road, Cranleigh Court Road, Celestine Road and Longs Drive.
