The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) has issued a public warning as it continues to experience high demand across its services.
A spokesperson has urged the public to ‘use emergency resources responsibly.’
In a statement released by the Health and Social Care Trust on Monday morning, NIAS said: “We are continuing to experience high demand for our services.
“Our teams are working hard to prioritise our response to the most seriously ill and injured patients.

“If you have called us and are waiting for an ambulance to arrive, please only call back if the patient’s condition worsens, or if you no longer require assistance.

“Please keep 999 for emergencies. Before calling us consider other alternatives such as self-care, pharmacy or GP advice. You may also wish to consider the GP out of hours service, if appropriate.
“If you feel your situation is an emergency, please do not hesitate to call 999.”
