Marc Leonard’s list of suitors is growing now that Birmingham City have made the midfielder available for transfer.

Leonard has fallen out of favour under Blues boss Chris Davies and will be allowed to leave this month.

The 24-year-old Scot played 15 Championship games for Blues this season before being omitted from the last two squads and the prospective signing of Colombian midfielder Jhon Solis should accelerate his departure.

Belgian side Sint-Truidense, who are currently third in the Jupiler Pro League, are understood to have made an enquiry about Leonard.

There is also interest from MLS in Leonard. Leonard was chased by MLS clubs 18 months ago before he joined Blues and one unnamed side are believed to have expressed an interest in signing him since his availability became public knowledge.

BirminghamLive also understands that Leonard is admired by several Championship clubs and teams at the top-end of League One, though the midfielder isn’t keen on returning to the third tier.

Leonard still has two-and-a-half years remaining on his contract at Blues so neither party is under pressure to completely cut ties this month.

A loan deal could be sanctioned to grant Leonard his wish of regular football and free up a space in Blues’ squad.
