Bargain-hunters and shopaholics, gather round. A huge new Primark is setting up shop in south-west London soon, and it’ll be the first time that the beloved brand has opened a new store in the capital in over a decade.

Primark has been serving up budget-friendly fashion and beyond since it first swung opened its doors in Dublin in 1969. The brand didn’t grace London with its presence, however, until 1986, when it opened in Woolwich. And now, exactly 40 years later, there are eleven Primark stores dotted across the city – and Wimbledon is about to become the lucky recipient of the twelfth.

The new Primark on the block will arrive in south-west London in the form of a rather sizeable 24,000 square-feet shop in the Wimbledon Quarter Shopping Centre. It will take over the former Debenhams store and will be perched alongside the likes of Oliver Bonas, Boots, M&S, and Hotel Chocolat.

The new location will stock womenswear, menswear, kids clothing, beauty, and homeware. And it could be open by the end of this year or early next year. So, rest assured if you manage to snap yourself up a last minute ticket to the 2027 tennis tournament; you won’t be stuck for something to wear.

Robert Cragg, Head of Asset Management at Romulus, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Primark to Wimbledon Quarter. Their arrival is a fantastic boost for the local community and brings greater choice for everyday shopping right to the heart of Wimbledon.”
