Leeds United are set to sanction a loan move for Jack Harrison to Fiorentina this week. But, the Serie A strugglers want another Leeds star on top of the winger.

This week, the January window is kicking into gear for Leeds with the first bit of major business set to be ratified.

That business being the outbound move for Jack Harrison to Fiorentina on loan for the remainder of the campaign.

Fiorentina securing Jack Harrison’s services from Leeds United on half-season loan with £8.6million buy option

La Viola are struggling at the bottom end of the Serie A table this season, and have turned to two familiar faces at the top of the pitch to turn their fortunes around. First, they signed Manor Solomon on loan after a poor spell at Villarreal.

Now, they have agreed a loan with Leeds to take Harrison for the rest of the campaign. That loan also includes an £8.6million buy option, should the Florence club fancy a permanent agreement.

That said, the likelihood of Fiorentina pursuing a permanent deal seems slim. They have splahed out around £80million on signings this season, and it hasn’t paid dividends as they find themselves three adrift of safety.

Fiorentina try their luck with baffling attempt to sign Leeds United’s Jaka Bijol too

Not only Harrison, La Viola have also tried their luck for another one of Daniel Farke’s men this month.

A report from Corriere della Sera(via Sport Witness) claims that Fiorentina are also looking to strengthen their defence. Hilariously, they have Jaka Bijol on their shortlist to improve their survival prospects.

Bijol left the Serie A for newly-promoted Leeds back in the summer window, to the tune of around £15million.

Despite a slow start, the Slovenian international has become an integral presence at the heart of Leeds’ defence. Unsurprisingly, he’s been one of the biggest beneficiaries from our shift to a 3-5-2 setup, having looked incredibly comfortable on international duty in an identical role.

49ers insulted: Fiorentina’s shocking Jaka Bijol interest as Leeds United sanction Jack Harrison loan

I can imagine exactly how an exploratory phone call would pan out. Not well for Fiorentina, I can tell you that much.

Fiorentina, or any club right now for that matter, have absolutely no chance of taking Bijol from us this window. He’s simply too good and too important.

Right now, Fiorentina is a significant step back from Leeds. That being said, Bijol’s career looks like it’s only going one way. And, it’s not back to the bottom half of the Serie A.

You do have to wonder how much money it would take to get the 49ers to the table regarding Bijol.
