Via Emilia by Food Roots brings handmade pasta and Emilia Romagna flavours to Notting Hill with third London opening
14th January 2026
Via Emilia by Food Roots, specialising in the cuisine of Italy’s Emilia Romagna region, has recently opened its third London location on All Saints Road in Notting Hill. The new site marks a further expansion of the brand that already has established venues in Fitzrovia and Shoreditch. The restaurant aims to offer an authentic culinary experience rooted in the traditions of northern Italy, with a focus on handmade pasta and regional specialities.
The menu at the Notting Hill branch features nine fresh pasta dishes, each representing a different part of Emilia Romagna. All pastas are made daily by hand and are titled in their original Emilian dialect. Dishes include Spaghet’ cun e’ sùg ed pundór from Cesena (spaghetti with slow-cooked tomatoes, basil, and extra virgin olive oil from Brisighella), Tajadèl Bulgnaisi col ragó from Bologna (tagliatelle with beef and pork Bolognese ragù), and Turtlèin vèird a l’arşâna from Reggio Emilia (square ravioli filled with spinach, ricotta, and parmesan cheese, topped with butter and sage). Every dish is made according to an established family recipe to deliver an exact taste of this famed Northern Italian food region.
One of the restaurant’s distinctive offerings is its Gnocco Fritto, a traditional, gently fried bread served with Emilian meats such as prosciutto, mortadella, and pancetta, as well as cheeses like Parmigiano from Parma and Caciotta from Ravenna, and eaten by hand.
To accompany its food, Via Emilia offers a curated selection of wines from the Emilia Romagna region, including Sangiovese, Moma blends from Bologna, and Lambrusco, which is served in ceramic bowls as per regional tradition.
The Notting Hill restaurant seats up to 46 guests and was designed in partnership with Lee Pollock of Lifeforms Design, featuring a neutral palette and large windows for natural light. The opening adds to Notting Hill’s growing food scene and continues Via Emilia’s stated commitment to providing a genuine taste of Emilia Romagna which is always thoughtful, educational and to date incomparable
