Cox Media Group is adding a familiar voice to mornings at classic hits WMMO Orlando (98.9). Brandi Britain, a veteran air talent with over a decade of morning experience in Atlanta, is teaming up with Jay Edwards for the station’s newly refreshed morning show.
The pairing kicked off this morning, marking Britain’s return to daily on-air hosting. Known for her offbeat humor, storytelling chops, and a self-described “distinctive voice,” Britain says she’s eager to connect with Orlando listeners.
“I’m a roller-skating and joke-telling radio personality with a distinctive voice and lots of stories,” Britain said in a news release. “I want to be the reason someone says to a friend, ‘Hey, guess what I heard today.’”
Britain spent 11 years at the former “Rock 100.5” WNNX, rising from board-op to producer and eventually co-host of the “Bailey & Southside” morning show. Most recently, she has been serving as a traffic reporter for the Total Traffic & Weather Network.
WMMO Director of Operations and Program Director Steve Stewart calls Britain “a popular talent” who’s poised to resonate with the Central Florida audience. “Brandi is going to be loved by our Orlando listeners, just as she was in Atlanta,” he said.
Edwards, a longtime CMG Orlando voice who has been with WMMO for more than 25 years, says the on-air chemistry was immediate. “I have never been more excited,” he said. “Now I get to start the next chapter with an incredibly talented and very funny co-host. My mornings just got better — and I think Orlando will agree, theirs did too.”
