An investigation is underway after the body of a man was found in a field next to a railway track in a Welsh town. Emergency services including officers from Dyfed-Powys Police and paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service were called to Carmarthen railway station on Saturday morning.
A number of police and ambulance vehicles were seen outside the station’s main entrance, and officers were seen in an adjacent field near a railway bridge.
It has been confirmed that a man’s body was found at the location. The name or age of the man has not been released by police, but officers have spoken to his next of kin. For the biggest stories in Wales first, sign up to our daily newsletter here.
Police are now investigating what they call an “unexplained” death.

A spokeswoman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “We are investigating the circumstance surrounding the death of a man who was found in a field near the rail track in Carmarthen just after 8.30am, Saturday, January 10
“Next of kin have been advised and are being supported by officers.
“The death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.”
