Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh has been praising Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan, the two opening batters of the Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League 2025. Gill has been impressive for GT for years, and Sudharsan is showing his class in the tournament’s ongoing 18th season.

The southpaw has crossed the 450-run mark and is among the top three run-getters. On the other hand, Gill is closing in on 400 runs. The two have given good starts to the franchise and played a key role in 6 wins out of 19 games so far.

Bhajji feels Sai has taken his level to new heights. He has played a few ODIs and T20Is for the Men in Blue, but the selectors haven’t tried him in Test cricket. Gill has cemented his place across formats in international cricket.

“Sai Sudharsan is a class player, and his basics are strong. There is hardly any stroke that is not there in his batting arsenal. Sai has impressed me the most in the 18th season. He was good last year, but his stature has gone up in IPL 2025,” Harbhajan Singh said.

“Sai Sudharsan is a brilliant player. I will pay to watch Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan bat in Test cricket. They bat well against fast bowlers and spinners,” he added.

Gill will travel to England for the five-Test cricket series after the cash-rich league. Sudharsan will also be in contention, considering his performances for the India A side and Tamil Nadu in domestic cricket. Sai hasn’t been treated fairly by the national selectors, but former players feel he will break into the national team.
