Police are investigating after a body was found in a country park.

The emergency services were called to Woodgate Valley Country Park, which borders Quinton and Bartley Green, around 3.20pm on Wednesday (Jan 14) to reports of a body in one of the ponds.

West Midlands Police is treating the death as unexplained and enquiries are underway to establish what has happened.

West Midlands Police said in a statement: “We’ve been called after a body was discovered in the water in Woodgate Valley Country Park around 3.40pm today (14 January).

“The death is currently being treated as unexplained as we seek to establish the full circumstances.”
