Leeds United look to be clearing room in the budget to make a loan signing this month as we imminently bid farewell to Jack Harrison on loan.
United’s January window is yet to get up and running with any pending incoming business. However, a significant barrier to spending could be about to be cleared.
Leeds standing on PSR (yawn, I know) is still looking quite tight after £100million spent during the summer and very few permanent outbound transfers. So, shifting players from the wage bill could allow for a new addition or two.

Leeds United to sanction Jack Harrison loan to Fiorentina with £8.6m buy option included
The first significant outgoing of the January window looks set to be confirmed in due course, in the form of Jack Harrison.
Leeds’ relatively unpopular left-winger has struggled for involvement since returning from two years on loan at Everton. As a result, he’s expected to complete a move to Fiorentina this week.

Fabrizio Romano revealed that the 29-year-old is heading on loan for the remainder of the season, with an £8.6million buy option included.
Fiorentina are currently in the bottom three of Serie A. However, their form in the last six games is that of a top-half side, getting their first two wins of the campaign and clawing back the deficit to safety.
Leeds United clear path for Premier League loan transfer after Jack Harrison exit news
Harrison wouldn’t be leaving if Farke didn’t have assurances that the club would be replacing him in the squad.
We’re already quite short of attacking depth right now. So, letting Harrison leaves heightens the priority of landing an attacking signing this January.
A like-for-like replacement is unlikely, given the move to a 3-5-2. As a result, you’d imagine Farke will be considering a striker to supplement Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s superb form. Or, he might want a creator to help enhance the striker’s output further.
Financially speaking, getting Harrison off the books for half a season could be vital too. His presumably hefty wages would be covered at least to some degree by La Viola, allowing us to fill that gap with a new signing.
Who that signing is remains to be seen. Leeds have previous for sitting tight and waiting for openings in the window. Premier League rivals could well hand us the key for Harrison’s replacement in the squad.
