A popular Edinburgh restaurant is set to be replaced with a Miller and Carter following the sad announcement that it would be closing. Charwood on Buckstone Terrace announced last week that they would be shutting their doors after 12 happy years feeding the capital.
Edinburgh Live understands that the owners of the bar and grill, Gary and Anne, decided to close the eatery as they looked forward to semi-retirement.
Their last day of trading will be on January 24, anyone with bookings after this date will be contacted by the team at Charwood.
In a post on Facebook, they wrote: “It’s goodbye from Charwood. After almost 12 incredible years, we have made the decision to close Charwood. Thank you to all of our customers, staff and suppliers for supporting our local family business and making Charwood such a special part of the community. We have shared so many memories with you and we will be forever grateful.
“Charwood will be open as normal until the 24th January 2026 and our amazing staff will be there to welcome you, we hope you will come and see us before we close.
“If you have a booking with us after the 24th January 2026, our team will be in touch with you as soon as possible. Thank you.”
It has now been confirmed that Miller and Carter will be moving into the space, with renovations set to take around four months.
