Liverpool Central Library will host a special screening of a new documentary film later this month, in partnership with the Liverpool Doc Club.
‘The Librarians’ will feature as part of a wider event on 22 January, alongside a panel discussion and Q&A with key speakers from Liverpool Central Library, University of Liverpool, Liverpool John Moores University, and Liverpool Hope University.
The 90-minute film, directed by Kim A. Snyder, examines the recent wave of book banning across the US and tells the story of the librarians who stood up against censorship and fought back in the name of democracy and intellectual freedom.
Liverpool Doc Club is a project designed and run by Imagine Futures CIC, and this screening marks the group’s first event, with other venues set to follow in the coming months.
‘The Librarians’ film event will take place on Thursday 22 January from 6pm – 8pm at Liverpool Central Library (Discover space). The event is free, however tickets should be obtained in advance from https://screening-the-librarians-liverpool.eventbrite.co.uk.
