In news that will perhaps surprise no one, Prince Harry will not only not meet up with his father, King Charles, when he visits the U.K. next week, but he will also not see his brother Prince William and his sister-in-law Kate Middleton while in his home country. Not only will the Duke of Sussex not see the Prince and Princess of Wales—they’ll be hundreds of miles away in Scotland, People reported.

Harry’s trial against Associated Newspapers (ANL), the publisher of The Daily Mail and The Mail on Sunday, begins on January 19.
William and Kate are due to carry out their second joint engagement of 2026 the next day in Scotland on January 20, where they’ll visit the National Curling Academy in Sterling to meet with Great Britain’s Olympic and Paralympic curling teams ahead of the forthcoming Winter Olympic Games and Winter Paralympic Games. They’ll also visit Radical Weavers in Stirling, which People reported is “a working handweaving studio that doubles as a charity where patrons learn about the heritage of Scottish tartan.”
The organization also makes blankets and textiles to give back to those in need, the outlet added.

Harry, for his part, will be in court for most of next week, part of a lawsuit that is suing ANL for alleged information gathering, allegations which the company has “vigorously” denied.
King Charles—who last saw his younger son in September, when the two met up for tea at the King’s London home, Clarence House—will also be in Scotland next week, appearing at the Palace of Holyroodhouse on January 19, the same day Harry’s trial kicks off.
