Former American tennis player Sam Querrey has boldly predicted that Jannik Sinner will win all four Grand Slam titles this year. Carlos Alcaraz and Sinner will start next week’s Australian Open as huge favourites after winning the last eight majors in the past two years. Novak Djokovic was the last man to outrun either player, defeating Daniil Medvedev in the 2023 US Open final.
Alcaraz, 22, clinched the French Open and the US Open, while Sinner, 24, won the Australian Open and took the crown at Wimbledon in 2025. This year in Melbourne now holds major significance for the Spaniard as it’s the only major he’s yet to win. Sinner has won the Australian Open for the last two years running, and Querrey believes the Italian star is set to continue his strong form and sweep the board in 2026.
Querrey, who reached a career-high No. 11 in the world in 2018, was speaking on the Nothing Major podcast along with former tennis professionals Jack Sock and John Isner when he made the audacious call.
“My bold take is that I think Sinner is going to win all four majors this year,” the American said. He then asked: “What is more likely, Sinner winning all four, or someone other than Sinner or Alcaraz winning one?”
Sock then responded that it is more likely to see Sinner taking all four majors. Isner disagreed, however, believing the game will see a major winner outside of the current world top two in 2025.
“I think that, on the men’s side, we will have a Grand Slam winner who is neither Sinner nor Alcaraz,” said Isner.

The Australian Open draw has been made ahead of the event getting underway on Sunday, with both Sinner and Alcaraz learning their first-round fate. The former will begin his title defence against Hugo Gatson of France.
The latter, meanwhile, will play Aussie star Adam Walton. The Spaniard and Italian cannot actually meet until the final, but Djokovic has landed in Sinner’s half of the draw.
If Alcaraz lifts the trophy in Melbourne it means he will have completed the Grand Slam set by the age of just 22, having already won in SW19, at Roland Garros and Flushing Meadows. Tennis legend Roger Federer believes the achievement would be seismic.
Federer won the Australian Open six times but did not complete his career Slam until he was 27 when he won the French Open. “It’s like Rory [McIlroy] going for the Masters, those things are tough,” Federer said in a press conference at Melbourne Park on Thursday.

“But at the end of the day the momentum shifts towards the first round, and then it’s point for point mentality… But it’s true, at his young age to be able to complete the career Grand Slam already now, I mean [it] would be crazy.
“So let’s see, if he is able to do crazy this week, I hope he does for the game, it would be an unbelievably special moment. But he has a hundred players who say, ‘We don’t agree with those plans.’
“The rivalry between Alcaraz and Sinner I think is a great one, I mean they play incredible tennis.” Speaking on his quest to win a third consecutive Australian Open, Sinner insisted it will be a tough task. “[It is] one of the goals for this season,” he told 9News Melbourne.
“It’s gonna be very difficult to get back there, but I’m going to put myself in the game. I know that I’ve practiced very well. The off-season was great. Physically, I feel good.”
