A man has been taken to hospital following a crash involving an e-bike and a car in Litherland. Merseyside Police were called to the junction of Gorsey Lane and Sterrix Lane at around 12.35pm on Friday, January 16, following reports of a crash.

Two ambulances attended the scene. The incident involved a Sur-Ron electric bike and a Citroen C3. Police said the rider of the bike, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital as a precaution.

Traffic monitoring service Inrix reported Sterrix Lane was closed in both directions between Gorsey Lane and Sterrix Green due to the incident.

A witness posting on social media said: “Large police presence and police horses there now, sadly, the bike is unrecognisable. Traffic backed up so avoid if possible.”

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: “It was at 12.35pm at the junction of Gorsey Lane and Sterrix Lane in Litherland

“A Sur-ron bike and a Citroen C3 were involved in a collision.

“The rider of the bike, a man in his 20s, has been taken to hospital to be checked over.”
