A “gorgeous” village in south Wales has been named among the most beautiful in Britain.

From Grasmere in Cumbria down to Solva in Pembrokeshire, the Daily Mail has revealed the 24 most beautiful villages in Britain.

Introducing the list, the news outlet said: “With stories of rats and overflowing bins recently dominating the news, it’s easy to forget that the UK is blessed with beautiful villages dotted up and down the country.

Why Ogmore-by-Sea is among Britain’s most beautiful villages

Ogmore-by-Sea was one of five villages in Wales named among the most beautiful in Britain.

The Daily Mail said: “This gorgeous village in the Vale of Glamorgan is situated half on a slight clifftop, and half on the mouth of the River Ogmore with views out into the Bristol Channel, and across the Merthyr Mawr nature reserve.”

The “gorgeous” village, located near Porthcawl and Bridgend, featured on the Daily Mail list due to its varying beauty spots.
