A man has been rushed to hospital following an assault in north Manchester. Emergency services swarmed Halliwell Lane, in Cheetham Hill, this morning (January 17).
Officers were called out to reports of an assault at around 8.30am. Greater Manchester Police says a man in his 20s was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital.
His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening, police say. Images from the scene show a stretch of Halliwell Lane taped off, with a GMP van and an ambulance in attendance.
It’s understood additional police and ambulance service vehicles were also in attendance. An air ambulance was pictured landing nearby.

No arrests have been made so far and police are continuing with their enquiries. A GMP spokesperson said: “We were called to reports of an assault at Halliwell Lane, Cheetham Hill, at about 8:30am this morning.
“A man in his 20s was treated at the scene and is now in hospital where his injuries aren’t believed to be life threatening. We are investigating but have made no arrests at this stage.”
