Flames shot from a first floor window as a fire broke out at a takeaway in Salford. Dramatic pictures show firefighters battling the blaze in Little Hulton tonight.

Four crews were called to the scene after the takeaway in a row of terraced shops on Manchester Road West caught fire around 7.30pm.

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said no-one was injured. At the time of writing crews remain on the scene.

A spokesperson added: “Around 7.30pm this evening (Saturday), firefighters were called to reports of a fire at a commercial property on Manchester Road West in Little Hulton.

“Four fire engines from Bolton Central, Farnworth and Atherton fire stations quickly arrived at the scene of a fire to the first floor of a terraced property. Crews remain in attendance as they work to extinguish the fire and make the area safe.”
