Billy Bolt opened the 2026 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship with the overall win at the opening round in Gliwice, Poland and backed that up at round two in Germany to extend his lead in the 2026 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship with a maximum points haul.  He did it again in Spain overnight at round three…

Racing inside the tight and technical Bizkaia Arena, the Bilbao track proved one of the most demanding layouts of the season so far, placing a premium on precision and mistake management across the three Prestige races.

Bolt extends championship lead

Bolt set the tone early by topping timed practice before securing SuperPole victory, earning valuable bonus points. In race one, the Husqvarna rider emerged second from the start before capitalising on a mistake ahead to move into the lead, controlling the remainder of the race to win by 16 seconds.

Starting from the second row in the reverse-grid race two, Bolt worked methodically through the field, reaching second place by mid-race before making a decisive pass for the lead in the closing stages. He again pulled clear to secure his second win of the night.

Race three followed a similar pattern, with Bolt launching into second before seizing the lead early and building another comfortable advantage to complete a clean sweep of SuperPole and all three finals.

The result gives Bolt a 40-point championship lead after three of seven rounds.

“It was a really good night and I’m very happy with how things turned out. The track was extremely difficult and quite different to what we’re used to, which made it a challenging evening for everyone. Even when things didn’t feel perfect out on track, I knew the pace was there, so I stayed calm, focused on my strengths, and trusted the process. We had to make a few adjustments as the night went on, but the team did a great job, and we worked through everything well. Overall, I’m pleased with my riding and how everything is coming together. The support has been incredible once again, and the atmosphere here in Bilbao was amazing.”

Walker delivers another consistent runner-up performance

Triumph Factory Racing Enduro Team’s Jonny Walker once again demonstrated consistency, finishing second overall with runner-up results in all three races aboard the TF 450-E.

Walker showed strong pace from the outset, posting the second-fastest time in practice before briefly topping SuperPole with a lap two seconds quicker than any rider before him, ultimately qualifying second.

In race one, Walker grabbed the holeshot and led early before a mid-race crash dropped him back to second. Further mistakes prevented a renewed challenge for the win, but he held position to the flag.

Race two saw Walker charge through the field from the reverse-grid start, reaching fourth by the end of lap one before moving into the lead. A close fight at the front eventually saw him settle for second, well clear of third place.

Walker again led early in race three before a small mistake in the rock section allowed the lead to slip away. From there, he focused on damage limitation to secure another second-place finish and second overall for the third round in succession.

Jonny Walker – P2

“Round three in Bilbao was challenging, but I’m happy to finish second again. The track was tough, and I had to work hard, but we had some strong starts and good battles throughout the night. We’re a long way from third, which is a positive, and I feel like with a bit more fitness and fine-tuning, we can close the gap to the lead. Mitch Brightmore and Eddie Karlsson competed for the final step on the rostrum in each contest, but neither had the pace to touch Bolt or Walker.  Brightmore secured the overall third place ahead of the Stark rider.

Garcia takes top five in home wildcard appearance

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Josep Garcia finished fifth overall in his third wildcard appearance of the SuperEnduro season, delivering solid results on a track that did not favour his natural riding style. Teammate Manuel Lettenbichler sat out the round due to a finger injury sustained in training.

Garcia qualified comfortably for SuperPole aboard his KTM 250 EXC-F, setting the fourth-fastest time and securing a strong gate pick.

In race one, Garcia started well and ran third in the early laps before a mistake near the rock section dropped him into a multi-rider battle, eventually finishing sixth. The reverse-grid race two saw him work steadily through the pack to claim fifth place, capitalising as rivals began to fade.

Race three proved more challenging. Garcia narrowly missed the holeshot before being delayed in the rocks, dropping back to 10th. He recovered to sixth before a late mistake relegated him to eighth at the finish.

Despite the challenges, Garcia secured fifth overall, an encouraging result given his limited SuperEnduro experience.

Josep Garcia – P5

“It wasn’t the best day for me here in Spain. The track was so technical in a trial kind of way, so I struggled to get comfortable out there. I gave my best as always and tried to push in every race, but I made a lot of mistakes as well. I got a good start in the last race, but then I crashed on the third lap and broke my gear lever, so I was stuck in third gear, and unfortunately, the track was more suited to second. From there, I just aimed to get to the finish. I was able to take P5 overall, which I’m still pleased with in only my third SuperEnduro race. The crowd has been great, so I hope to be back here again next year.”

Up Next

After three rounds, Billy Bolt holds a commanding lead at the top of the standings, with Jonny Walker firmly established in second. The series now moves to Budapest, Hungary, for round four on January 31, where Walker will look to close the gap and Bolt will aim to maintain his unbeaten run.
