An adorable stray dog has finally found his forever home with a new owner who says the pup “saved him”.

Boby, who is around one-year-old, was rescued by the Scottish SPCA in Glasgow late last year. The dog has now found his forever home with Shane, who had recently gone through the heart-breaking and sudden loss of his previous pooch

Boby was found on the streets and taken into the care of the Scottish SPCA Glasgow Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre. But now Glasgow Live reports that the wee rascal is “much happier”, he has found a forever family with Shane, who experienced “love at first sight” when he came across Boby on the adoption website.

The Scottish SPCA shared on Facebook: “Boby came to us as a frightened young stray, unsure of people and the world around him. With patience, kindness, and time, our team slowly earned his trust and watched him blossom into the sweet, affectionate dog he truly is.

“We don’t know what Boby experienced before coming into our care, but thanks to the dedication of the team at our Glasgow Centre, he was ready to find the loving forever home he deserved – and that’s when Shane found him.”

The animal protection agency said that Boby has brought “comfort, joy and laughter back into a grieving home” following the loss of Shane and his parents’ previous dog.

Shane said: “Rescuing a dog from [the Scottish SPCA] is the best thing to do! It will change your life. People say they are happy that I saved a dog from a rescue but I don’t believe that’s the case… he saved me.”
