A young cat and her kittens have been rescued after being found living inside a bin in the Kinning Park area of Glasgow.
The “very thin” little one was found alongside her two baby kittens during January’s cold snap, as temperatures plummeted as low as -7C.
The trio are now in the care of Protect Cats Scotland who have been “overwhelmed” by calls this month, which they say is “unusual” this time of year. Each cat has now received veterinary treatment, which included being treated for parasites. The team say they are now “doing well” as they continue to recover.
In a post made to Facebook, fellow cat lovers were left “heartbroken” following the discovery and thanked the Protect Cats Scotland team for their work.
One commented: “Wee babies are the spit of mummy. Thank you for all you guys do for these poor wee animals”, a second supporter added: “Utterly heartbreaking. Thank goodness you’ve got them to safety.”
The charity has called for support as they continue their work in rehoming strays and abandoned pets in Scotland.
